MRT#02 Pacific & the Rockies + Rocky Mountaineer Rail Motorcoach & Railroad Tour from/to Vancouver
The motorcoach tour encompasses the magnificent coast and mountain sceneries of British Columbia and Alberta - from Vancouver, Whistler to Banff and on to Jasper. We travel from Vancouver to the world-class ski destination Whistler through BC’s scenic Coastal Mountains. Visit a working cattle ranch in the southern Chilcotin area and continue the journey to Banff in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. From Jasper you travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer to towards Kamloops and on to Vancouver. We overnight in first-class hotels and mountain lodges in scenic locations.

Motorcoach Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Vancouver - Whistler - Lac Le Jeune
Your motorcoach tour begins with an early morning drive along scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway towards Whistler. On your way you pass the Shannon Waterfalls and the Stawamus Chief rock face. You have time for a short walk in Whistler before continuing along Duffey Lake Road. You travel from the mountain-lined Pemberton Valley through a high traverse of the Coast Mountains and be rewarded by some of the best roadside scenery of the southwestern British Columbia. Enjoy a delicious lunch in Lillooet, known as Mile '0' on the famous Cariboo Trail that led to the Cariboo Gold Rush. After traveling along lush green fields and winding river canyons you know enter the desert-like environment of the interior. Arrive in time for your evening dinner at Lac Le Jeune. Take an evening stroll to the nearby lakes, where 'jumping' rainbow trouts will entertain you.
Day 02: Kamloops / Lac Le Jeune - Banff National Park
Your motorcoach tour continues after a delicious breakfast. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as you travel past rocky lakeshores of Shuswap Lake, across ranchlands and high mountain passes. You frequently stop at interesting and historical places like Craigellachie where the last spike of the CP railway was driven, the Kicking Horse Canyon, Spiral Tunnels and Rogers Pass. Have lunch while enjoying scenic views of glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. After passing Emerald Lake in Yoho Park you have time to visit the 'Jewel of the Rockies' Lake Louise with towering Chateau Lake Louise. Continue to Banff for your overnight stay.
Day 03: Banff National Park
Today you have time to visit the sights and attractions of Banff. The small town is located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a popular destination with its majestic mountains, sparkling blue glaciers and alpine wildflower meadows. This morning attend a guided sightseeing tour including a visit to the Banff Springs Hotel, Cave and Basin Center, the Hoodoos at Tunnel Mountain and a cruise on glacier-blue Lake Minnewanka. Your sightseeing tour includes also the scenic gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain and the entrance fee to the Whyte Museum where you'll learn more about the wildlife and history of Banff.
Day 04: Banff - Lake Louise / Yoho National Park - Banff
After a delicious breakfast depart for a visit to Johnstone Canyon, Moraine Lake and the Valley of ten Peaks. Arrive in Lake Louise, the ' Jewel of the Rockies' where you have time for lunch (included). Your sightseeing tour continues to Yoho National Park. The word "Yoho" is a Cree expression of awe and wonder. Nestled on the western slopes of the Rockies, Yoho National Park boasts towering rock walls, spectacular waterfalls, and 28 peaks over 3,000 metres in height. Visit secluded Emerald Lake, the Spiral Tunnels at the Kicking Horse Pass and the Takakkaw Falls. Return to Banff in the afternoon.
Day 05: Banff - Icefields Parkway - Jasper
The splendour of the Icefields Parkway can hardly be overstated: a 230-kilometre road from Lake Louise to Jasper through the heart of the Rockies, it ranks as one of the world's most spectacular mountain highway. The Icefields Parkway follows the Rockies, crossing through several mountain passes, and skirting many glaciers, lakes and abundant wildlife. Arrive at the Columbia Icefield, presenting an awesome sight when first viewed from the Icefields Parkway. Here you have the chance to take a ride in one of the chunky Snocoaches to experience the glacier. The vehicle makes a thrillingly steep descent from the lateral moraine to travel some distance along the surface of the glacier, allowing passengers a walk on the ice before arriving in Jasper.
Day 06: Jasper - Kamloops
Boarding: 7:45 am, Arrival: 4:10 pm
Transfer to the Jasper railroad station. Board the Rocky Mountaineer for a two day trip from Jasper in the Canadian Rockies to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia's interior. As you travel west you will be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and by the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Today's highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 meters (12,972 feet) and the journey along the North Thompson River as you approach your overnight destination, Kamloops. Tonight you may join us to the Two River Junction Dinner & Musical Revue.
Day 07: Kamloops – Vancouver
Boarding: 7:30 am, Arrival: 5:10 pm
Transfer to the Railroad Station. Board the train and continue your journey westwards from Kamloops and travel along the Thompson River to the Fraser Canyon. At hell’s Gate watch water torrent past the canyon walls at its narrowest point, a true highlight of the canyon. Upon leaving this region, the train will journey through the fertile Fraser Valley to the coastal city of Vancouver. Upon arrival you will be transfered to your downtown hotel.
Day 08: Vancouver
Your motorcoach & railroad tour ends with check out of your hotel.
