GR#08 Guest Ranch, Clinton - Chilcotin Area

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Cariboo, in the heart of cattle country, the Guest Ranch is surrounded by majestic mountains and graceful meadows dotted with wildflowers and lakes. Riding out from the main Ranch House, follow the natural trails of tranquil splendour from one magnificent vista to another. Standing beside your horse, in the peaceful silence, atop the Knoll, the awe that is felt cannot be described as you enjoy the breathtaking 360-degree view and know that one can surrender themselves to the vastness of this wilderness, where time has no meaning. There is no doubt that the Guest Ranch features "One of the 10 Most Scenic Rides in Canada!" (Rated by Canadian Cowboy Magazine). The riding trails lead from gentle meadows to extraordinary canyons and mountain ranges above the mighty Fraser River with its infinite plateaus, home of the Bighorn Sheep. Our horses are "user friendly"! Whether you've ridden all your life and just want to experience new country or have never been on a horse before and want to "give it a go", we have just the horse for you. Our herd consists of a variety of different sizes and riding levels. Just like people, our horses have their own distinct personality and our experienced wranglers will match you with a horse that will meet your needs. Prior to starting out on rides, basic instructions are given for handling your horse as well as all tack is checked and adjusted for your comfort and security. The Main Lodge is a magnificent log home, hand hewn over 65 years ago. This landmark of the Cariboo cattle country is the heart of the Guest Ranch. The Lodge offers warmth and comfort in the Fireside Lounge. Our Wagon Wheel Dining Room is licensed and offers scrumptious home cooked, ranch style meals. The mouth-watering aromas from barbecues bring guests together for a "happy hour" of fun and enjoyment. After dinner stargaze from the outdoor hot tub inspiring you to relax. Accommodations in guest rooms include private bathrooms with showers. For those wishing more privacy or romance, self-contained log cabins features one bedroom with a sleeping loft, fireplaces, cooking facilities, fridge, lights, full bathrooms and spectacular lakeview.
