The rental vehicle is automatically insured with $5 million public liability and property damage. A deductible of $3,000 applies for collision, fire, vandalism and theft. Clients can purchase VIP coverage for $18.00 per day which reduces the deductible from $3,000 to $300. Some exceptions apply.
With purchase of VIP (Vacation Interruption Protection) Security/Damage Deposits is also reduced from $3000 to $500.
VIP covers incurred expenses of up to the daily rental rate paid by the renter in case of mechanical breakdown of the vehicle requiring more than 12 hours to repair. Mechanical breakdown does not include malfunction of the radio, air conditioner(s), generator, cruise control, or breakdown due to an accident. The refund is limited to $1500 or the daily rental rates paid, whichever is less. The rental company is not responsible for hotel charges, car rental, or other incidental or consequential costs in the event of a breakdown or accident.
Accidents must be reported immediately and be accompanied by a written accident report and a police file number.
Expenses arising from an accident do not apply.
Coverage excludes liability for loss of personal property.
In the event of an accident all insurance coverage including VIP coverage is void (regardless of whether Renter is at fault or not), if accident is not immediately reported to police and to the rental company and all claims must be submitted with a complete written drivers report. |

| Restricted areas include not public and logging roads, travel in Mexico, all roads in the Yukon and Northwest Territories, the Alaska Highway north of Fort St. John, Cassiar Hwy north of Kitwanga, Highway 35 north of Peace River and Death Valley in June, July and August. The VIP (Vacation Interruption Protection) is void if this rule is violated and customer is responsible for all damages to vehicle, tires and towing costs as a result of breakdown associated with operating in these areas. There is a $1,000 penalty for unauthorized travel in these areas. |
