KBC#01 3 Day Gulf Island Kayak Tour
 Gulf Islands
Looking for the perfect weekend escape? If so, than this kayaking tour is definitely for you! We meet in Cowichan Bay, Vancovuer Island and launch from "Cedar by the Sea" early Friday morning and arriving back Sunday afternoon will give you just the right amount of time to relax and enjoy these warm, Mediterranean like Northern Gulf Islands. Intricate honeycombed sandstone cliffs, warm swimming bays with white clamshell beaches, and spectacular bird watching (bald eagles, oyster catchers, turkey vultures and cormorants, just to name a few) Swathed in history with tales of the Aquarian Foundation, buried gold and Brother XII's whip wielding consort Madame Zee. These mini-archipelagos rival the West Coast for unique scenery, aboriginal history and abundant wildlife; they should not be overlooked as an kayaking adventure destination.
 Day 01
We will meet in Cowichan Bay at 7:30 a.m. From there we will travel to Cedar by the Sea, our launch point. At the launch site our guides will discuss kayaking safety principles and teach the group the finer points of packing kayaks. From the launch we will paddle to Link Island where we will stop for a delicious lunch break. After lunch we will paddle down the coast of Link and DeCourcey Islands exploring the carved sandstone cliffs. We will set up camp at historical Pirates Cove on DeCourcey Island and enjoy a delicious salmon dinner.
 Day 02
After an early breakfast we will pack our kayaks for a day trip to the sandy beach of Blackberry Point, on Valdes Island. Along the way we will have time to explore the coastlines of Ruxton, Pylades and Whaleboat Islands. We will return to our base camp at DeCourcey Island with ample time to explore the comprehensive trail network of the island, and learn the history of Brother Twelve and his unusual cult before settling in for a nourishing dinner.
 Day 03
We will rise to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a yummy breakfast. After breaking camp we will take a leisurely paddle back up the coastline towards our launch at Cedar, enjoying lunch along the way. We will arrive back at the launch at approximately 1:30, allowing sufficient time for connections and travel.
